A beautiful antique bangle modelled in 14ct gold with a spiralling section at the front wrapping around a golden shamrock set with a white pearl, blue sapphire and red ruby (approx. 0.08ct each).
Shamrocks have long been a symbol of Ireland and Saint Patrick who used the symbol to illustrate the Holy Trinity. One leaf for the Father, one for the Son and one for the Holy Spirit.
The patriotic colours suggest the piece was made in the US but was assayed in London during the early 20th Century, as indicated by the import hallmark on the band.
It’s remained in pristine condition and fitted with a box clasp and safety chain at the side.
