Luminous South Sea Pearl (approximately .5 inch in length (11 millimeters) with 22k gold 24-inch (60 centimeter) hand made chain. If you were a dignitary living around the Mediterranean Sea around 2500 years ago, or a medieval or renaissance lady,  you may have worn jewels suspended from this chain. To wear pearls would have been quite rare, indeed. To make this chain, we first melt pure gold with a little bit of silver and copper to make 22k gold. The resulting ingot is hammered, stretched, rolled and drawn to create wire. From the wire, we create little rings that are forged into individual links. The links are the same style made by ancient jewelers for their most esteemed clientele. The ingenious design of these links makes them exceptionally strong. The richness of almost 92% gold perfectly matches this delicate pearl jewel. This piece is beautiful on its own, but layers wonderfully with other chains.
